The Wallpaper Story
These six embroideries were inspired by wallpaper designs from wallpaper stripped from the walls of Hutt Art Society. The original wallpaper inspirations are shown along with the embroideries. They were worked either by me or my colleague, Sue Swann. Layer 4 was a 'leather look' paper unsuitable for stitch, and Layer 6 was an embossed white pattern that was too badly damaged to copy.
